A lot of good folks spend a lot of time and energy trying to make core truths about themselves not true. It sometimes feels easier to avoid them rather than accept them. Ignoring our core truths rarely ends well.

Here are some steps we can all take to start accepting our core truths.

Self-Reflection

Take some time to reflect on your values, beliefs, and desires. This can be done through journaling, meditation, or talking with a trusted friend or therapist.

Identify Your Core Truths

Once you have reflected on your values and beliefs, identify what feels true to you at a deep level. This may involve letting go of preconceived notions or societal expectations.

Practice Self-Compassion

It's important to be kind to yourself during this process. Acknowledge that this can be difficult work. Give yourself permission to take things at your own pace.

Take Small Steps

Begin to take small steps towards living in alignment with your core truths. This could involve setting boundaries, expressing your needs, or making changes in your life that align with your values.

Seek Support

Surround yourself with people who support and encourage your journey towards accepting your core truths. This could include friends, family, or a therapist.

Remember that accepting your core truths is a process and it may take time to fully embrace and live in alignment with them. Be patient with yourself and celebrate each small step you take towards living authentically.
