When We Borrow

just a thought

A friend's dad used to say, "When you borrow something from someone, you should return it in better condition than it was when you received it."

He was mainly referring to lawn mowers, tools, cars, and the like. But this is good advice for borrowing time too.

You borrow someone's time when you talk to them, ask them a question, ask for a favor, or an opinion. When you borrow someone's time, make sure it is in better shape when you return it than it was when you borrowed it.

How do you do that?

Make them smile.

Make them feel appreciated.

Make them feel valued.

Make them feel heard.

Make them feel seen.

These things don't take a lot of time, but have huge returns for both the other and you.
