The Pause: Just a Thought

just a thought

This week's posts have been all about the power of the pause. Earlier this week we discussed the value of a pause in both nonprofit asking and donor data.

But what about our daily lives as we go about the general business of life? What can taking a pause do for us outside of a work setting?

Pauses give us a chance to inhale, exhale, and repeat which grounds us in the present moment. By consciously considering pauses we can also:

Preempt
Preemptively avoid negative outcomes from stressful situations by promoting calm, peaceful thoughts.

Accentuate
Focus on the good stuff to accentuate the positive. Positivity spreads, creating a good stuff cycle.

Unwind
Let everything that occurred over the course of the day slide away.

Simplify
Simplify your days by attending to the basics.

Energize
Refresh and rejuvenate if only for a short moment.

Sometimes the perfect thing is the perfect pause. Don't be afraid to intentionally pause...inhale...exhale...repeat.
