Opening Statements

one-person business Nov 17, 2022

As a consultant, trainer, or speaker, whether working with a small group, large team, or an individual, your intentions should be clear from the beginning of any engagement in your opening remarks.

A few goals for your opening statements should be to:

  • Put people at ease.
  • Provide a peek into who you are.
  • Connect with students immediately.
  • Make sure everyone knows you're going to have some fun.
  • Make participants comfortable. The bonus here - it puts you at ease too.

Leaving people to guess what you're all about is the last thing you need. Use your opening statements wisely.
