OPB Priorities

one-person business

Setting priorities has always been a challenge for me. As an OPB, it's easy to say, "I'm doing it all on my own so everything is important because if I don't get this done now I won't have time tomorrow to get it done."

This is dead-end thinking that leads to sloppy work and unachieved goals. Not to mention stress, anxiety, and insomnia.

When I take the time to clarify my priorities, everything moves forward with a certain fluidity. I'm happier and my sense of purpose comes into sharper focus. The work ahead of me becomes undoubtedly doable. All of this, of course, feels amazing.

One of the keys in setting priorities is to understand the importance of balance. It's okay to take a breather, change things up. A break often helps us see our priorities in a new light. In this new light...who knows...we may even decide that a specific priority doesn't take priority over others. And that's okay.
