Anger Management

just a thought

For a long time I spent a lot of energy making sure no one was ever angry with me.

The thought of someone being angry with me was unbearable.

Here's where that got me - always angry with myself. That's it.

Sure, no one was angry with me but the anger I had from making sure no one was angry with me turned in on itself. It was like a perpetual plane crash and I was the person who was helping everyone else put their oxygen masks on while neglecting my own need for oxygen.

Here's the thing. It's not that I want to go around making people angry with me just because "that's not my problem" or "I can't control how they react," but balance, as is the case with everything, was certainly in order.

Even today I find myself falling back into this habit with certain people. But with some age under my belt and a trust that my intentions are always good, my objectives are always win-win, and my actions are always authentic, I'm much better at managing anger - mine and theirs.
